Hi everyone, Firstly, as this is our first update from AME in 2026, we wish…

Talk by Lorna Brazell at Penpont Stables on 4th March
‘The invisible costs of renewable power: bringing nature resilience into the calculation’.
AME is delighted to present a talk by Lorna Brazell, Trustee of the Cambrian Mountains Society. Lorna comes from a Welsh speaking Llanelli family but, having grown up in England, is learning the language after retiring to Abergwesyn some years ago to plant an arboretum. She is a walker and cyclist who, with a background in geophysics and law, is enjoying the natural history of the the Cambrian Mountains.
“If in attempting to mitigate climate change we weaken the resilience of Wales’ biodiversity too far, restoring healthy ecological networks may no longer be feasible”. (Natur Cymru, Gaeaf/Winter 2025/26, p.51)

This will include the questions from the audience, so do please notify us if you would rather you do not appear on the recording.
The following article on Nation Cyrmu (published in September 2023) provides more of Lorna’s perspectives and insights, many of which challenge the current governmental orthodoxy surrounding wind farms. We are very much looking forward to hearing more on March 4th.
