AME was formed in response to significant concerns surrounding the proposed Garreg Fawr Energy Park, an industrial scale wind development that would have major implications for the Nant Brân and Epynt landscape, its ecosystems, and the people who live here.
Our campaign focuses on ensuring that any development in this area is:
• Properly assessed
• Transparent
• Environmentally responsible
• Community-centred
• Grounded in evidence rather than assumptions

Key concerns include:
• The impact on peatland, hydrology, habitats, and local wildlife
• Landscape and visual effects on a nationally significant upland environment
• Noise, infrasound, and health considerations
• Grid connection routes and associated infrastructure
• Heavy traffic, access routes, and construction impacts
• The adequacy of the planning and consultation processes
• Effects on local communities, livelihoods, and cultural heritage

Our work
We coordinate expertise, gather evidence, and help the community understand the planning system and the implications of proposed developments. We also prepare submissions, organise events, and ensure that local voices are heard at every stage of the DNS (Developments of National Significance) process.
AME is not opposed to renewable energy. We are opposed to poorly conceived developments that place long-term ecological and community wellbeing at risk.
